Speech-Language Pathologist

 

          The School District of Arcadia is accepting applications for a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist for the 2016-2017 school year.  Applicants must have or be in the process of completing a Masters in Communication Science and Disorders and Wisconsin DPI certification 84.  Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is highly preferred.  Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) completion is also preferred, but not required.  Supervision for the CFY is available within the school district, if needed.  Primary responsibilities will be working with children in early childhood through grade 2.  Bilingual skills preferred but not required.

Early Childhood Teacher

The School District of Arcadia has an opening for a full-time Early Childhood Special Education Teacher, for the 2017-18 year. The teacher will provide special education services for children 3-5 years of age. 

             Applicants must have or be willing to work toward an 809 certification.  The position requires close collaboration with a speech and language pathologist, related service providers, and early childhood regular education teachers. Background experience and knowledge of working with diverse cultural backgrounds is highly preferred.

School Psychologist

 

          The School District of Arcadia is accepting applications for a full-time School Psychologist for the 2017- 2018 school year. Current Wisconsin School Psychology license (7062) is required. Preference will be give to individuals with experience working with diverse populations and the ability to communicate in Spanish. In addition to responsibilities listed below, this individual should have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Assess the strengths and weaknesses of referred students though appropriate testing and diagnostic practices.
* Assist in coordination and implementation of district RtI systems and supports.
* Assist in coordination and implementation of PBIS systems and supports.
* Interprets diagnosis to school personnel, professionals, parent and the student, as appropriate.
* Confers with teachers, parents, and other staff about appropriate strategies, techniques, and procedures for dealing with students with disabilities and at-risk population.
* Coordinates referrals and identification of district students with disabilities. 
* Coordinates case conferences and participates in IEPs and placement conferences as assigned.
* Prepares and submits required reports as assigned.
* Assists with reporting child abuse and neglect.
* Provides crisis counseling as needed.

FULL-TIME HIGH SCHOOL BAND TEACHER

 

             The School District of Arcadia is accepting applications for a full-time High School Band Teacher for the 2017-2018 school year.  The successful, student-centered candidate would be responsible for high school band, pep band, marching band, jazz band, and middle school general music.  The music program is the pulse of our community; we seek a teacher who will create a family-like atmosphere where positive student and community relationships are valued as much as professional performances. Full Time ELL Director/Coach

 

             For the 2017-18 school year, The Arcadia School District is searching for a full-time Director and Coach of English Language Learners.  This is a permanent position that will work with ELL, general education, and administrative staff district wide.

             The ELL Program Director and Instructional coach must possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program in education.  They must have licensure from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in the area of ESL. 

             The ELL Director and Coach is twofold.  As the Director, the individual is responsible for program/ curricula development and implementation, maintaining high quality and effective assessments and instruction for learners, and ensuring legal requirements of an ELL program are maintained.  As the coach, the individual is responsible for working collaboratively with Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to provide input and plan implementation of best practices, and observe and model best practice strategies in classrooms.
             This position may be responsible for evaluating staff.  This position is under the direct supervision of the Superintendent.

Applicants must have or be willing to work towards a 395 certification. The successful candidate(s) will work with students with limited English proficiency. The teacher(s) will assess, instruct, and develop students’ English language proficiency, and support their access of the grade level curriculum and instruction. The successful candidate(s) will also be a coaching instructor on best ELL practices.
