Wisconsin residents in 5-year-old kindergarten to grade 12 may apply to participate in open enrollment. Students in pre-kindergarten may participate only in limited circumstances; parents should call their resident school district administrator to find out if their preschool-aged children qualify.
Parents must submit application forms to the nonresident school district during a three-month period beginning in February. For the 2017-2018 school year, parents must apply no earlier than Monday, February 6 nor later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2017. A student may apply to no more than three nonresident school districts.
Parents may apply in one of two ways:
· On-line (recommended) at: http://dpi.wi.gov/oe
· Although on-line application is recommended, paper applications may be obtained from the Department of Public Instruction, Box 7841, Madison, WI 53707-7841 or at the Arcadia School District Office, 756 Raider Drive, Arcadia, WI 54612 and must be delivered (hand delivery is recommended) to the nonresident school district.
